Six Jackson Middle School students complete Explorer program

The final day of the Jackson Township Division of Fire Explorer program March 5, 2016 included wearing 65-pound fire turnout gear and experiencing rescue training in a simulated smoke-filled room. The students rode in Engine 205 to Jackson Township’s newest fire station — Station 204 at 4900 Buckeye Parkway — to complete their five-week fire Explorer program.

Jackson Middle School students who participated were Aron Downs, Kip Gibson, Andee Hamilton, Mitchell Holstein, Alex Martin and Tyler Vandergriff.

Jackson Township Division of Fire Prevention Bureau Inspectors Scott Burris and Indol Moore in cooperation with Jackson Middle School guidance counselor Dave Allmon offered the Fire Explorer program.

The six students will be recognized by the Jackson Township Board of Trustees at its 7 p.m. March 22, 2016 meeting at the Jackson Township Administration Building — 3756 Hoover Road in Grove City, Ohio.
