Jackson Township firefighter/paramedics respond to water rescue calls

A woman was rescued from the Big Darby Creek and a man who was trapped in his boat in the Little Darby Creek was saved June 14, 2015 by responding firefighter/paramedics from Jackson Township and Pleasant Township.

“Area waterways are high because of recent heavy rainfall so it is important to remember to always wear life jackets,” said Lynn Bruno, Jackson Township public information officer. “These successful water rescues are reminders that wearing life jackets can save lives.”

Firefighter/paramedics who took part in the boat rescue were from Jackson Township Brad Mathias, Alex Maust and Josh Hammond, and from Pleasant Township Travis Burleson and Travis Schultz.
