Jackson Township Fire Department - Grove City, OH

Training

Capt. Merion Jacob, EMS/Fire Training Officer

December 2005, a training structure was obtained from a developer and the structure

was prepared to accomplish the following objectives:

  • Light Search and Rescue &  Shoring

The building was collapsed by falling a tree upon the rear of the structure and providing crews the opportunity

to practice shoring, as well as light search and rescue.

  • Water supply

The property, although being located physically in the center of the City of Grove City, is still within an

area that has not been annexed.  This allowed us to "shuttle" water to the site during the live fire burn of the

building.  Shown in pictures below there was no offensive firefighting done in the building due to the structural

conditions and concerns for firefighter safety.

Shown below are defensive attacks for some newer firefighters to train.
